Cataclismic variable stars
Example observations of cataclismic variable stars.
WW Cet is a U Gem type dwarf nova, which has outbursts every two months.
Coordinates of the star (ICRS2000, according to
Simbad):
α: 0h11m24s.77,
δ: -11° 28′ 42″.7.
In a quiescent state nova has brightness ~14.5 magnitudo (and is invisible
to our cameras), but in outbursts brightness is rising up to ~10.5 mag (according to AAVSO).
On 4th of May 2008 our team has observed possible outburst in
which the nova has reached brightness 11.5 mag.
